Pere Marquette Railway bridge
Pere Marquette Railway Bridge
We are all familiar with the bridge which crosses Kettle Creek in the center of the village, but there are other bridges crossing Kettle Creek farther north. The bridge shown on this postcard would have been built prior to 1913 when the Pere Marquette lease of the London and Port Stanley railroad tracks expired. It is purely a railroad bridge of the Warren thru truss type (I am told). It replaced an earlier wooden bridge at the same site.
