The building on the left in this photograph was the Franklin House hotel which was built in the late 19th century and was destroyed by fire in 1918.

The name of the restaurant across the street from the Franklin House is not quite legible, but the rest of the sign reads “ice cream and lunches. Meals 25 cents” Note the “parasol” being carried by the lady to protect her from the sun.
