Port Stanley Bathing Beach

One of many postcards which we have of the main beach at Port Stanley.   The stamp has been removed on this postcard and the date obscured, but it is obvious from the garb of the bathers that this photograph was taken before World War One.

The dock extending out into the lake allowed vacationers to board one of the many small pleasure steamers which offered trips out on the lake.  The position of the dock was variable from year to year.
